Jetsonian Drone is an upstart company that aims to focus on the areas of real estate, surveying, aerial photography, technology and any other application where ultra-high definition photography and computer technology / AI is desired. On September 3, 2016, I obtained my FAA remote pilot’s license to make aerial photography and HD video commercially with the use of drones. Consider the efficiency of a drone compared to the cost of putting a helicopter in the air. In some instances, shots from a drone would be impossible any other way.
As of June 21, 2016, the FAA has passed the small UAS rule that allows for commercial entities to charge for services rendered. Under the final rule, the operator must have or be directly supervised by someone with a remote pilot certificate with a small UAS rating. An individual must pass an initial aeronautical knowledge test at an FAA approved knowledge testing center, or have a pilot certificate and have completed a flight review in the previous 24 months. Operators will also be vetted by the TSA prior to issuance of a certificate. Visit the link below for a list of approved training facilities.
